Over 150 women entrepreneurs registered for the Small Grants Contest

154 women entrepreneurs from the Republic of Moldova submitted investment projects to the 5th Small Grants Contest held within the Program "Women in Business". The dossiers were received by the Organization for the Development of the Small and Medium Enterprises Sector (ODIMM), online, between March 11 and April 11, 2020.

The winners of the 5th Contest will benefit from a non-reimbursable grant amounting to up to 165 thousand lei, which will be offered to women who run a company from 0 to 24 months. The financial support can be used to purchase machinery, equipment and development services.

"I support and admire the courage, enthusiasm and perseverance of women entrepreneurs in our country. In this complicated period we pay special attention to the investment projects that contribute to the economic development of communities. We will continue to support female potential in the entrepreneurial and managerial field so that every business idea becomes true, thus creating and maintaining work places and offering good salaries ”, mentions Sergiu Railean, the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure.

According to the Director General of ODIMM, Iulia Costin, in the next period of time, the organization she leads will launch a new Small Grants Contest in order to offer the possibility to submit their dossiers to all entrepreneurs who failed to do this in due time.

To date, 379 businesses run by women from all over the Republic of Moldova have been selected and funded through the "Women in Business" Program. The amount of approved grants accounts for about 52 million lei, which will attract investments in the economy of about 90 million lei. Entrepreneurs' businesses have created and maintained over 1,500 work places.
