The greening of SMEs can create opportunities for the Republic of Moldova to benefit from the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) and to fulfill its obligations under the Association Agreement with the European Union as well as the environmental objectives of the Agenda  2030 agreed with the United Nations.

At the same time, since 2014, the green economy has been introduced into policy support documents for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), notably in the framework of the Action Plan for Small and Medium Sized Enterprise Development Strategy.

Planned support is given to SMEs that are currently focusing on green economy development, but also the spirit of innovative business.

ODIMM implements the SME Greening Programme. It aims at promoting, supporting and developing the capacity of SMEs to adopt greening practices in production and service provision.

Through this Programme SMEs can benefit from:

a) training and education on greening SMEs;

b) low non-reimbursable financing of up to 200,000 lei, which will account for up to 70% of the value of the investment project;

c) high non-reimbursable financing  of up to 500,000 lei, which will constitute up to 50% of the value of the investment project.
